CASA Pickleball Tournament Nets Over $133K for Youth in the OC Foster Care System

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County hosted its second annual Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, June 4th, 2022, at The Tennis and Pickleball Club at Newport Beach. The Tournament netted over $133K which will go directly to recruiting and training volunteers who will be matched with youth in foster care to serve as one on one mentor advocates.

The CASA Pickleball Tournament was chaired by Karen Jordan, Lourdes Nark, Wendy Tenebaum and Linda Young. 156 players and 89 spectators were part of the action for this year’s event. Players participated in four different league options including a Beginner’s Court, Intermediate Court, Competitive Court and a Pickleball Clinic for those learning how to play. All guests enjoyed tacos and margaritas, a live DJ courtesy of Cueva Entertainment, a 360 degree photo opportunity, and an opportunity drawing courtesy of The Tennis & Pickleball Club at Newport Beach and South Coast Plaza. STARK, Four Sisters, and Twila True Fine Jewelry and Watches had showcase vendor pop-ups.

The winner on this year’s Competitive Court was MoJo Mo’unga and Michael Guberger.
